Are HP Laptops Good? It Depends On The Model And Your Needs!

Lots of people come into my store—I sell laptops—and ask me if I have any HP or Dell or Acer or whatever. I always ask them why they're interested in that specific brand.

Most people don't give me a good reason. They've heard good things, or their friend has one. But they haven't seen enough laptops to really know whether a specific brand is any good or not.

I sell all the major brands at my store. We sell Apple, Dell, HP, Sony, Toshiba, Acer, Asus, and others. None of them have really stood out in the long run over their competition. There are all of similar quality over all.

So try not to get stuck on one brand. You never know if you're going to have lots of problems or a great experience. You can never really tell what's going to happen.

Just concentrate on finding a laptop with the features you need to do what you want to do with the laptop. If you want to take the laptop all over town with you, then don't buy a 17”. Buy a netbook or a 12” or 14”.

Of course, it's your computer and you're the one who has to look at it everyday for the next 1 to 4 years, so you might as well like the look of it. But don't get hung up on aesthetics either. Don't buy an Apple just because you think they look cool. Make sure you can do what you have to do with an Apple before you buy one.

I will discuss what questions you should ask yourself before you buy something in a later article. But for now, I just want to caution you not to limit yourself to one brand. Check out what all the major brands have to offer.

So maybe an HP is good for you, and maybe it isn't. It really depends on what you're trying to do and whether HP has a model that will let you do that.
